Midget AE ('94-'96), U16-U18 Travel, 2011-2012 (St. Thomas Minor Hockey)

A game in which both teams had to win, in order to advance to the Shamrock B Finals.  The officiating again controlled the first two periods and the Stars had to play on their heels for the most part. 

We started out tentatively and had to overcome a series of penalties.  St. Marys out shot the Stars 12-8 in the first period, largely inpart from being undisciplined.  We were scored upon twice and one of those goals was a St. Marys power play.  St. Thomas had two great chances in the first period but failed to capitalize.

    The referee and timekeeper had their hands full in the game against Bothwell.  Both teams were struggling with the new headshot rule. 

    100% of all goals scored, are a result of a shot on net.  This is a direct quote from the Great One (99).  As a result of our team grasping this concept, we went on to out shoot our opposition by a 3 to 1 ratio (51-17).If it had not been for a few miscues and unlucky bounces our team would have walked away by a greater margin than the 6-4 final score.

Having to play a 9:30pm start time in Lambton Shores, proved to be a slight detriment, as the team got out of the gate slow.
