100% of all goals scored, are a result of a shot on net.  This is a direct quote from the Great One (99).

As a result of our team grasping this concept, we went on to out shoot our opposition by a 3 to 1 ratio (51-17).If it had not been for a few miscues and unlucky bounces our team would have walked away by a greater margin than the 6-4 final score.

Our team seems to be coming together, in effort and desire to win.  We keep telling the boys to keep the puck and legs moving.  They are showing the willingness to improve, and it shows from how they practice.  The coaches are constantly reminding the boys, if you listen and practice hard, the game becomes easier each time out.  If they give their 100% in practice, then this will translate to their next game time.

We never trailed in the game, though some how Strathroy would not go down easily.  The first period ended 2-1 in our favour as we out shot them  (17-3).  Second period was similar, again out shooting Strathroy (14-5) and heading to the 2nd intermission up 3-2.  Strathroy came out after the flood a little stronger and more determined.
We seemed to be a little laid back giving up the first four shots on net before registering our first shot of the 3rd.
The game was tied 4-4 at midway point of the last frame, as a result of a Strathroy power play.  However our team is now understanding the never say die attitude and quickly restored a two goal lead.  Final score 6-4.

A few notables in this game would be the 4 goal performance by Stevie Drew, and 2 goals by Josh Chatten.  Our overall defensive effort should not go unnoticed, Chris Mikulinac was on the ice for 5 of the goals scored in our favour, Connor Trumble and Andrew Wood were on for 4.  All three had a high +3 rating for the game.  All of the forwards did an excellent job back-checking, which resulted in an great overall team effort.

    Keep working hard boys!
