Stars Steal One on the Road
Submitted By ctrumble on Wed 10 05, 11
Having to play a 9:30pm start time in Lambton Shores, proved to be a slight detriment, as the team got out of the gate slow.

Even though we outshot Lambton in the first period, they capitalized on some slight miscues.  The coaches are still trying to do some early season line juggling and it was obvious the boys just weren't quite sure of their linemates tendencies.
We started the second period down 2-0, but as miscues go we took advantage of some of theirs and scored early.  As luck would have it we gave one back by kicking one into our own net, and ended the second period trailing 3-2.
The third period was a total 360.  After the intermission flood, the boys must have got some encouraging words from the coaching staff, because they finally found their second wind and turned up the heat.  Even going down by two goals early on a Predators power play, couldn't stop us.  Two quick goals later in the last frame tied it up and had it not been for some fortuitous bounces and good goal tending on their part, we should have walked away with a steal of two points.   All in all the boys played a lot better than our home opener against St. Marys and stealing one point on the road, was more like a win.

100% of all goals scored, are a result of a shot on net.  This is a direct quote from the Great One (99).  As a result of our team grasping this concept, we went on to out shoot our opposition by a 3 to 1 ratio (51-17).If it had not been for ...

First I would like to thank all the boys that came to all the try outs this year. It is never easy having to choose only 2 goalies out of 6 especially when they are all so talented.
