On to the Finals
Submitted By ctrumble on Wednesday, March 14, 2012
A game in which both teams had to win, in order to advance to the Shamrock B Finals.  The officiating again controlled the first two periods and the Stars had to play on their heels for the most part.

In between killing penalties though,  St. Thomas controlled matters.   There were about four great chances to open the scoring, but their goalie was superb in turning aside all shots and rebounds.  For the first time in series Strathroy held us to under 20 shots after two periods, Stars (19), Strathroy (10) and the scoreboard read 0-0.
The St. Thomas Stars came out skating hard in the third and before you could sit down after getting your refreshments, the score was 3-0.  The second half of the last frame was boring compared to the first two periods, for the strategy was to just dump and chase.  Coach Steve Mikulinac had his troops playing a close checking style for that period and the final results tell it all..... On to the Finals!.....Keep playing hard and good luck boys!

100% of all goals scored, are a result of a shot on net.  This is a direct quote from the Great One (99).  As a result of our team grasping this concept, we went on to out shoot our opposition by a 3 to 1 ratio (51-17).If it had not been for ...

First I would like to thank all the boys that came to all the try outs this year. It is never easy having to choose only 2 goalies out of 6 especially when they are all so talented.
