ST THOMAS ATOM AE STARS SWEEP the Owen Sound Attack in 3 GAMES TO ADVANCE FROM THE OMHA PRELIMINARIES
For awhile it looked like the STARS might have to play a game 4, as the Attack’s goalie played a fantastic game. He was on fire, making save after save as most of the play was in the Attack’s end.
The STARS fell behind early in the first period 1-0, and it stayed that way thru the second period. The boys got a pep talk from the coaching staff to regain the teams focus. Not wanting to play a game 4 and extending the series, Tysen Hunter put on a burst of speed half way thru the 3rd period went in tight to the goal and top shelved one and got the ATOM AE STARS on the board, tying the game at 1-1. As the crowd erupted with cheers the STARS team got motivated to finish the job. With 35 seconds to go in the third period, Dylan “Scooter” Buhler outplayed the defense to break into the zone went for the deak on the goalie and made a sweeeeet setup pass along the crease to Josh “Harsey” Hare who got his own rebound and scored to sweep the series in 3 games. This huge emotional win sends the ATOM AE STARS to the Quarter Finals in the OMHA Playdowns.
Chris “Woody” Wood played one heck of a game, always keeping his focus on the puck. After the first goal of the Attack the defense buckled down to hold the Attack’s offense from getting into the zone, keeping the shots down on Woody. Great teamwork on defense from: Caden Beshara, Sam Graham, Josh Allan and Noah Allen. The forwards had an awesome game, shelling the goalie with shot after shot.
