NOVICE STARS PULL OFF 6 WINS IN A ROW CONTINUING THE TEAM WINNING WAY BEATING LUCAN IRISH 6 – 3
Passing, shooting, skating, defensive play, goaltending, offensive play and three period team play (well hockey) that was this game’s key to winning.  Again this was a great intense game for the STARS FANS.

The STARS jumped to an early 3 – 0 first period lead.  The defensive play of Mike Roth and Colton Wiacek kept the Irish off the board.  The boys kept blocking the plays of their forwards.  Brennan Bradley got the scoring under way, receiving a pass out from the corner and making a cutting move in front of the net wristed one in.  Brennen Smith (who had 2 goals and 2 assists in the game) was always in on the rushes to the net of the Irish.  Brennen beat the goalie on the short side for his first goal and came up with a rush to the net, grabbing a rebound on a short handed play extending the STARS lead.  Ethan Miron made a rush for the net sending a blistering shot at the goalie.  The Lucan goalie saved it but gave up a huge rebound and Hunter Nurse back handed it up over the goalies shoulder.  Jack Pigram had some blades of glory going on.  Jack was skating with such powerful strides that he blew past the Irish wingers carrying the puck in to their zone.

The NOVICE STARS kept up the intense play thru the second and third periods.  Maclane Stringle kept up the wall in front of the STARS net, blocking shot for shot.  Josh Niles and James Martin also seemed to have built a wall along the blue line as the Irish could not get into the zone.  Keavan Milmine got 2 more goals in this game, going top shelf on one and deaking the goalie for another.  Jayce Smith had some great positional plays to assist Keavan in his scoring.  Jayce kept fighting and won control of the puck to help out the team.

Defensive plays by Evan Clarke and Alex Popen, who kept using the boards to clear the puck, were definitely key factors for stopping breakaway plays by the Lucan Irish.  ST THOMAS NOVICE STARS players, Brady DeDecker and Coleton Robison-Sareh also had key rushes to the net and kept the pressure going forcing the play in the Irish end.  Lucan came back in the third to get the game closer but the STARS overwhelming pressure play were too much to make up.  The STARS climbed to the top and beat Lucan 6 – 3 in the end.

The NOVICE STARS keep growing and learning as a team and the results are showing on the scoreboard.

GO STARS!!!!
