YOU CAN WALK ON WATER!
On Tuesday, the NOVICE STARS went to Dorchester to challenge the Dragons, but came up short on the scoreboard 4 – 1.
The NOVICE TEAM came to play and they challenged the Dragons for the complete three periods of hockey. The boys came out with great skating and team pressure, again making the passes and playing as a team. The team not only played where the puck was, but played the game where the puck was going to be.
Everything was going well for the STARS, goaltending was top notch, forwards were battling for the puck, defense challenged all, but a couple of bad bounces against the STARS and the Dragons took the lead and hung on for the win.
The great part about this game was the motivation of the kids. The NOVICE TEAM kept having fun out on the ice and with fire in their hearts and ice in their veins; the boys played their game. Even though they were down on the scoreboard, they never gave up in this game and continued to fight back. Every shift the boys came off the bench with one thing in mind, to play harder than the last shift and get that puck to the Dorchester net. The defense did the same keeping pace with the offense of the Dragons.
The team knew that it was up to them to relax and keep themselves in the game and great job boys, you did just that. Everyone on the team worked hard in this game and gave it their all.
The hard work in practice has made the team a great success on the ice this season. It is a real treat for the fans of the NOVICE STARS to watch the boys grow and become better players. We’re very fortunate that we have a wonderful bunch of kids that never give up and love to play hockey. Not only are they a team but friends too.
