PEEWEE AE TEAM IMPROVES REGULAR SEASON RECORD TO 4–0 ONLY GIVING UP 1 GOAL AS THEY OUTPAYED BELMONT RANGERS TO A FINAL SCORE OF 7–0
Passing, shooting and setting up plays were the key factors for the ST THOMAS team to come away with this victory.  The STARS did not hold anything back in this game and with the first puck drop the pressure started.  The STARS boys kept up the aggressive plays and trapped Belmont in their own end for most of the game.

Matt Beckwith kept every puck away from the back of the net.  Belmont were able to send some pucks Matt’s way, but he either deflected them with his stick or gloved them to stop the play.  The shut out looked like it may be jeopardy in the third period.  A Belmont forward finally broke thru everyone and raced down to the ST THOMAS net.  Becksie came out to challenge, squared himself and cut down the angle.  The Belmont forward shot and Matt snagged the puck to keep the shut out alive.

Opening the scoring for the STARS in the first period, Josh Hare sent a high flyer thru traffic and hit the back of the far side of the net.  Jake Gillis and Zack Banks had the goalie beat as they were passing back and forth and shooting at net but somehow the Belmont goalie rolled and was able to put the puck under him.  Zack wasn’t being denied to be on the scoreboard though and netted 2 goals on the afternoon.  Both goals came from tipped shots from the defence on the blue line.  David DaCosta sent a pass over to Ash O’Connor who fired and Zach tipped it in.  The other tip in came from another setup play by the defence, when Sam Graham got the play going up the ice and Noah Allen got the puck off the boards and shot towards the net.  Caden Beshara and Carson Nurse were also doing the same on defence, keeping the play in the Ranger’s end making sure the puck stayed over the blue line.  The defence also came back to cut off Belmont’s attempts to rush into the ST THOMAS end, but the puck was turned back the other way.

One of the most aggressive lines to the net; Joey Hardy, Cameron Douglas and Noah Dos Santos had some exciting play action for the STARS fans.  Joey got to the red light district twice in the game.  Once when he received a pass from behind the net and then sent it sailing past the Belmont goalie.  The other as Josh Hare screened the goalie and Joey shot from the left side past everyone to keep the tally running.  Sam Hardy and Ryan Payne had the ice melting as well today.  Their blades were on fire skating up the ice with their fast paced passing.  Sam H flipped a little back hand pass over to Denys Reid, who stepped around a player and wristed another to the net where the Rangers goalie felt some more heat.  Cameron Douglas got the final goal of the game as he shot and was being knocked down to the ice and from his backside while he and his stick were sliding along, he watched as the puck slid under the unsuspecting goalie for the 7-0 win.

The STARS penalty kill was also up to top notch today.  While Belmont had the extra attacker they never got close to the ST THOMAS net.  The PEEWEE AE boys out played the Rangers and as the game became a little “chippy”, they just stayed to the game plan to the end.

GO STARS!!!
