PEEWEE AE STARS GET ANOTHER WIN BEATING MOUNT BRYDGES COUGARS 5-2

The ST THOMAS PEEWEE AE STARS had to kick it into high gear tonight, being down players due to injury, but came out flying with determination to win against Mount Brydges.

Matt Beckwith had a great positional play game running tonight between the pipes.  Mount Brydges never gave up and kept rushing the net, but Matt was able to come across and with a flurry kick of the pad cleared the puck to safety.  Matt also had to juggle a few but always managed to trap the puck in his pads to stop the play.

David DaCosta and Noah Allen looked very sharp on defense, as they cut off plays threatening the net.  David also was able to skate back and cut off the rush mid stream to wrestle the puck away and get it off the boards.  Caden Beshara also had a great night on defense and was a force to kill off STARS penalties.  Caden got in on the rush up the boards and made some open ice from one end to the other to get 2 assists, each time feeding Josh Hare.  Harsey got 2 goals on the night, the first with a weave thru the defense, straight to the net, blasting it in the first 19 seconds of the game.  The Cougars kept battling though and tied it up 1-1 by the end of the first period.

But, the second period belonged to the STARS.  Most of the second was played in the Cougars end; great use of pressure boys.  Joey Hardy was cutting the wing to the offensive end, Cameron Douglas stretched his back leg out to keep on side and keep the play alive.  Joey kept his sights on the goalie and at the last second past it thru the crease to Cameron, who slid the puck in on the open side.  The STARS kept up the pressure in the zone where Noah Dos Santos erupted for 2 more goals on the night.  One from a quick wrist shot from the rebound shot of Noah Allen.  Noah D got the six foot rebound right onto his stick and fired it back into the net.

The Cougars came back in the third with 1 goal, but still the ST THOMAS STARS kept the pressure up and controlled most of the period in the offensive zone.  Back checking was a crucial part of the third, where Sam Hardy did some great skating out there to cut off the play and return the puck into the Cougars end.

NICE WIN BOYS!!!!

GO STARS!!!!!
