PEE WEE AE STARS FALL SHORT IN THEIR FIRST TOURNAMENT IN ST MARYS

The STARS opened up the St Marys tournament with a 4 – 1 win over the Port Hope Polar Bears. Second game the STARS lost to the St Marys Rock 6 – 0. The STARS needed a win in the third game but could not achieve it, losing 2 – 0 to Stratford Warriors.
The PEE WEE AE STARS played their best game of the tournament in game three. Game three was an exciting, on edge total team effort by the boys in this game. The STARS were only down by 1 late in the third, until Stratford got a penalty shot on a tripping penalty and somehow got it into the net. Matt Beckwith and Chris Wood were fantastic in net saving well over 100 shots in all the games. Game three was one of the best defensive playing games by the STARS team. The STARS forwards were doing a great job to get to the Stratford net, but just could not get it past the Warriors goalie.
The PEE WEE AE team would like to congratulate the ST THOMAS ATOM AE STARS on their SILVER performance at the tournament and also we would like to thank St Marys for putting on such a great show.
