ST THOMAS PEE WEE AE STARS WIN ONE EMOTIONAL GAME AND LOSE ANOTHER ON THE WEEKEND
On Saturday Night the PEE WEE AE STARS played South Huron to come out on top with a hard fought battle and lots of checking to come out on top 3-2.  Chris Wood had a dramatic game of outstanding net play.  Chris made the timely saves when the team needed him most.  He stoned so many of the Sabres forwards and made a quick head in the game save pounding on the puck preventing the tying goal.

The first period ended in a 0 – 0 draw as the defense cut off players.  Sam Graham and Ash O’Connor kept the Sabres forwards from coming into the zone by cutting off their men at the blue line.  Carson Nurse and Matt McBurney made some entertaining moments as they finished off their checking objectives.  Colin Wright, Josh Allen and Tyler Cleary rushed the net time and time again but couldn’t get anything past the opposition net minder.

Tysen Hunter got the scoring going for the STARS in the second period when he fought off a couple of defense, curved towards the net and deaked the goalie.  Ryan Payne, Ethan Emick and Josh Levesque again all had chances on the Sabres net but again their goalie saved the shots.  David Gauthier put the STARS ahead by one when he carried it into their zone and put a slider thru the five hole.  Cory Fox and Noah Allen played the blue line with great team play to clear the puck and preventing South Huron to get to the net.

South Huron tied it up in the third.  Cameron Watson tried puck handling and weaving thru players getting to the net but again the goalie denied the goal.  With a couple of minutes left in the game Tysen once again came up with the winning goal and gave the STARS a huge emotional team win.

After that huge emotional victory for the team, on Sunday they then fell hard losing a very emotional and tense game by 11 – 0 to the St Marys Rock.

Shake it off STARS – it’s just one game

The STARS focus will be back on team play again for their next upcoming game.
