Bridesmaid at the Belle River Tourney
Game #1 Southpoint came ready to skate and defeated the Hughson ATOM AE team 4-2. Goals scored by Rhett & Nelson assisted by David & Dylan.
Game #2 Belle River came out flat and our ATOM AE team played positional hockey to defeat the HOST team 1-0. Our goalies made many key saves to keep the game close. Rhett scored the lone goal.
Game #3 Tecumseh and our Stars played a defensive gem between the blue lines, our goalies made key saves when needed, to keep the game close. Dylan scored with assists from David and Dylan to secure the 1-0 win.
Game #4 Hughson's ATOM AE needed a victory to advance to the Finals on Sunday, LaSalle Sabres stood in their way. Nik opened the scoring to make it 1-0, Derian scored minutes later to make the score 2-0 after one period. In the 2nd period, LaSalle scored twice but Dylan scored once assisted by Joseph, to end the 2nd period 3-2 for St. Thomas. In the final period, once again our goalies came to the forefront and sealed the victory.
Game #5 Championship game, saw a rematch against the Host Belle River Canadians, final score was 7-1 for the HOST team. Our goal was scored by Nelson with assists going to Jackson and Dylan. We came out flat and could not recover even though we skated our best til the end. Escaping Essex County with a Silver Medal in the Belle River Tourney, you can't hang your head.
Dylan was named team MVP for the Belle River Tourney.
The coaching staff were proud of our boys.
