First Game, First Win!
The Minor Atom team traveled to London for their first exhibition game of the season against the London Bandits. Strong play at both ends of the ice combined with an excellent display of teamwork from the opening face-off proved to be the difference as our team came away with a convincing 4 - 0 victory.
Scoreless after the first, Tristan C. opened the scoring in the second period with a low shot from the slot that landed just inside the post. Russell O. added our second after breaking through the defence and going in on net all alone. Leading by 2 goals in the third, Miles V. slid the puck under a falling Bandit's goalie during a goal mouth scramble. Tyler M. finished off the scoring with a 5-hole shot from the wing finding the back of the net.
Strong defensive zone play by everyone helped Taylor H. and Brett C. share the shutout.
Overall, an excellent first game, and many great plays to build on. Well done everybody!!!
