Marco Valdez earned the first shutout of his career with the St. Thomas Stars to defeat Bothwell. He stopped all 28 shots to improve to 2 wins and 1 tie in his last three appearances.
Bothwell pulled their goalie for the extra man with 2 and a half minutes still to go but they could do nothing against the impressive defense displayed by the St. Thomas Bantam AE team.
The Stars went ahead with 1.5 minutes left in the first period with a goal by
Cody Howard who also added the last nail in the coffin in the third period for the final score of 2-0.
Cole Eggleston and
Jaden Sunderland each added an assist to their stats.
All in all it was a very good team effort by the whole team.
