ST THOMAS JR STARS MINOR ATOM TEAM GET BACK TO WINNING WAYS BEATING SARNIA STING 8-4
The MINOR ATOM TEAM got back to passing and shooting, after dropping the past two games to pull out the victory this weekend.  The STARS controlled most of the game, but got a little complacent taking a 7-1 lead in the third period.  The Sting jumped on the opportunity and added three quick goals of their own to come close at 7-3 but the STARS dug down again and ensured the TEAM win.

The defense had a very good day as Josh Niles, Jeffery Carr and Mike Roth cut off the rushing plays of the Sting.  They got in the way of the offense and turned the play the way for the STARS forwards to rush in.  Opening the scoring for the STARS and getting 2 goals and 2 assists on the day, Ethan Miron popped the first one in a passing play by Mike Roth.  Mike was all over the defensive end today chasing down pucks and sending them the other way.  Ethan received one and in a rush of players in front of the net, he kept with it until the puck was in the back of the net.  Brennen Smith and Keavan Milmine paired up in the passing department and rushed in from the wing straight for the net and where Brennen hit top corner for another goal.

The line of Jack Pigram, Ethan Georgijev and Kyle Wiebe were on fire today.  Production was the focus of this line as Jack and Ethan G had setup and passing plays to the front of the net to assist on all of their lines goals today.  It was a great sight to see the excited play and huge smile of Kyle Wiebe.  Kyle got his first hat trick of the season and in doing so got not only the game winning goal but the final goal of the game deflating the comeback of the Sting.  Colton Wiacek and Evan Clarke not only had a great defensive game but assisted on many of the goals today, getting the puck out of the zone and onto the STARS waiting sticks.  Jayce Smith was powerhouse on the ice today rushing for the net and getting into position to grab a pass and nail it past the Sting goalie.  Great passing plays and use of spreading out on the ice saw a lot of production of the play of Brennan Bradley, Ethan Miron and Hunter Nurse.  This line kept going and going to the net never giving up on the puck and Hunter Nurse scooped another in from the passing of Brennan and Ethan.

Maclean Stringle kept his focus on the game and held his positioning keeping the MINOR ATOM STARS in the lead all the time.  Even when Maclane had faced four shots on a power play shift of the Sting and he was down and out on the ice at the bottom of the net.  At the last possible minute when the Sting were about to score Maclane saw the open puck and kicked out his leg and booted the puck to safety at the side of the net.

Great Game Boys!!! – Great to see you keep your focus on the ice!!!

GO STARS!!!!
