ST THOMAS MINOR ATOM STARS WIN 3 AND TIE 1 IN LAST 4 GAMES
Game Overview:

Jan 4 – MINOR ATOM STARS tie Oakridge Aeros 2-2
Jan 6 - MINOR ATOM STARS defeat Kitchener Jr Rangers 5-0
Jan 7 - MINOR ATOM STARS defeat Brantford 99ers 8-6
Jan 8 - MINOR ATOM STARS defeat Woodstock Nay Vets 4-0

The goalies are doing a fantastic job this year.  Maclane Stringle stood his ground between the pipes and kept the STARS in it all the way.  In the Oakridge game, Maclane looked sharp and kept 4 rebound attempts out of the net using all of his equipment.  Ryan Bonter grabbed 2 more shut outs for the STARS, even when faced with a 3 on none breakout by Kitchener.  Ryan played like an action hero in the net moving from side to side blocking all that came near and using the glove sweep motion to track down every puck.

Scoring was well abundant for the MINOR ATOM STARS TEAM as goal production came from:

James Martin – 4 goals – 1 assist – with some speedy moves flying over the ice and a wicked back hand shot that finds the top corner

Keavan Milmine – 1 goal – 3 assists – as he keeps fighting for the puck by the net

Jack Pigram – 1 goal – 1 assist – creating the open ice and driving to the net

Hunter Nurse – 4 goals – 4 assists – driving to the net, almost running out of room and then slicing the puck in the short side

Ethan Miron – 6 goals – 1 assist – getting another 2 hat tricks

Kyle Wiebe – 1 goal - 2 assists – skating hard all the time and keeping the pressure in the offensive end

Jayce Smith – 1 goal – 2 assist – always driving and passing the puck to the net and driving the puck thru the five hole

Colton Wiacek – 1 assist – having great ice presence of the defensive line and dominating the play around our net

Brennen Smith – 1 assist – Speeding up the ice, and digging in the corners for puck control

Mike Roth – 1 assist – no matter who comes after the puck and how, Mike will always take them on and win control

Brennan Bradley – challenging all that comes between him and his goalies, and getting play action in front of the net

Jeff Carr – had some great opportunities playing on offense and defense, getting the puck moving off the boards and being in position to create chances for the STARS TEAM

Ethan Georgijev – making passing plays and setting up plays along the boards to move into the offensive end

With all the production from all the TEAM, it’s not just one line our opponents have to worry about; it’s the entire STARS TEAM.  The boys have been working so well together this season, with all the passing and pressure drills they are having great success on the ice.
