MINOR ATOM STARS ON THE WRONG SIDE
OF A TIP AND LOOSE A CLOSE GAME 2 -1 TO THE BURLINGTON BULLDOGS

The ST THOMAS MINOR ATOM STARS held a 1 – 0 lead thru the first period, the Bulldogs tied it up in the second, and then got a lucky tip in the third to win the game 1 – 2.  The puck was deflected into the net and there was nothing our goalie could do.

The STARS coaches tried to tie up the game pulling the goalie for the last minute and a half.  The boys gave it a ton of effort but just had no luck in getting past the Burlington’s goalie.  On the positive side, with the open net in play, the Bulldogs never got close to it.  So many times in this game either team could have taken the lead but both goalies stood strong.  Ryan Bonter in net for the STARS was able to keep the Bulldogs off the scoreboard by blocking and then jumping on the puck at the side of the net.

The line of Kyle Wiebe, Ethan Georgijev, Jack Pigram, James Martin and Evan Clarke played a strong game, getting to the net time after time.  They kept shooting, but were either stopped by the goalie or the post.   Brennan Bradley, Ethan Miron and Hunter Nurse kept making pass after pass to get in the face of the Bulldogs but again were denied.  Ethan Miron got the STARS to the board on a short handed rush, deaking the goalie and pocketing it in the back of the net.  Colton Wiacek and Jeffery Carr were aggressive on the defense making sure their forwards had a hard time getting to the STARS end.  In the same category of aggressive and dominant play, Keavan Milmine, Jayce Smith, Brennen Smith, Mike Roth and Josh Niles lined up to again take it to Burlington’s end.   Each player on this line had their chances on the breakaways and rushes to the net but again could not get the bounces in.

GREAT JOB BOYS!!!

HOPEFULLY THE BOUNCES COME OUR WAY NEXT GAME!!!

GO STARS!!!!!
