Rock Chips Away at Stars
The Stars travelled to St Marys on Monday night for a contest against the Rock
In what looked to be a good matchup from the 1st drop of the puck,this game slowly transgressed into a Gong Show. At times it was hard to differentiate between the St Marys Rock players and the officials as both seemed to want to take a piece of the Stars home as a souvenir.
The parade to the box was constant throughout this game and seemed to be pretty lopsided from every angle the visiting team and their fans viewed it. These games happen but it seems to be becoming a routine.
The protection and safety of the players on this team is first and foremost in the eyes of the coaching staff, but there comes a point when you have to show you are just not going to put up with some antics any longer. There comes a time when you have to say enough is enough. The Stars spoke up and they spoke up loudly. Sure the Rock chipped and hacked their way to a 3-0 victory, but they did not leave that ice without knowing this team can battle back and dish out a bit of their own. Sure we were unable to dent the back of their net, but something happened in this game that made every coach warm up a bit inside despite the outcome. This team is a TEAM, in every definition of the word.
Win as a team, lose as a team, battle as a team.
