Major Midgets win over South Kent Prep School 5-1
Submitted By sherene casey on Friday, December 04, 2009

The Elgin Chrysler Major Midgets arrived in Waterbury, CT mid day Thursday, Dec 3rd after a long and rainy bus ride.

The 1st stop of this 4 day tour was South Kent Prep School.  The players and parents toured the school and then prepared for the 1st game.  During the game, St. Thomas parents discovered that the game was being transmitted live on the South Kent web site... and after a few quick phone calls; some of the families at home were able to watch as well!

St.Thomas clearly dominated however, thanks to strong goal tending from the South Kent goalie (who happens to be Canadian), the 1st period ended in a draw.  South Kent scored 5 minutes into the 2nd period, but that would prove to be their last scoring opportunity.  St. Thomas tied the game before the end of the 2nd and continued to maintain control scoring 4 more in the 3rd period.

After the game, South Kent treated our players to pizza, and then it was back on the bus.  Tomorrow's game is against Westminster Prep School... updates to follow.
