Round 2 Shamrock Playoff, Game 2
Submitted By hsmith on Wed 03 05, 14
Petrolia beat St Thomas again, this time by a score of 5-4. The kids controlled the play and even dominated at times. Every time we would score they would get one back right after. I have never seen an opposing team get so many lucky breaks on goals. That being the case the kids don't ever give up. We should be up 2-0 but we are down 0-2 instead. Next 2 games are against Ingersoll which we have to win. The kids have been in this position a couple of times now and have pulled through. We were missing our 3 captains and another two others the last game. Back to a full roster tomorrow which will be nice after the last 2 games. Another big effort tomorrow to stay alive. Have to stay out of the box and not buy into what Ingersoll does. We have confidence in the kids to win.

    13-14 Midget AE ('96-'98)
In the final game of the season the Midget AE's lost to Petrolia 6-0. Congrats to Petrolia for winning the championship. They earned it by playing better than we did. We were tired and flat and they were not. It's a little disappointing because we ...

The series is going the full 5 games. Petrolia won by a score of 3-2 in St Thomas. We are tied at 4 points apiece. Petrolia scored with 1:33 left on the clock to win the game. It was disapointing to lose with a chance to wrap it up, it happens. ...

Another hard fought win by a score of 3-2. That now makes it 4 points to 2. Hopefully a win tomorrow to wrap it up. Lots of penalties by both teams this time which makes for a difficult game to coach. 11 PK's were all killed today as they were ...

    13-14 Midget AE ('96-'98)
It was the hardest game of the year to win and they did it by a score of 5-4. It was a steady parade to the penalty box. It was the most frustrating game to watch. Our team is not a physical team as only a few players usually play the body. In the ...

A familiar result against Petrolia. They won 3-1. Thats all 5 times they have beat us. The Petrolia goalie made some big saves for the win. We carried the play and should have won again. We need to get big bodies in front of the net so the goalie ...

The kids did it again and skated to a 5-3 win to go to the final. They beat Ingersoll. They took 10 penalties along the way to make it hard for themselves but still pulled through. 5 on 5 we were always the dominate team in these four games. ...

    13-14 Midget AE ('96-'98)
Ingersoll was the opponent and we tied 4-4. We now have to win on Sunday at home against them or we are done. We had a 4-2 lead going into the 3rd. A dreaded headchecking penalty which nobody likes was the difference early in the 3rd. I don't really ...

It was a close game. Petrolia won 5-4. The stars controlled the game but did not score enough. The goalposts are the other teams best friend lately. Tired of all the goalposts ringing. Petrolia capitalized on their chances and had the breaks to ...
