Streak Ends At 7 Against Nationals
The St. Thomas Junior Stars Midget A team played a mid week game against the Nationals and ended their unbeaten streak at 7 games with a 6-1 loss against the London Nationals.
A slow start for the Stars that seen the Nats score just 18 seconds into the game didn't get better as the night went on. Although out-shooting them 13-7 in the first period the scoreboard showed a 2-0 deficit. In a game that had plenty of penalties to both teams the only bright spot for the St. Thomas boys was a power play goal by Robert Shaw who scored with just a few seconds left with the man advantage. As the rest of the game unfolded the frustration for both teams came through as it seemed to take for ever to close the books on this one with some sort of scrum after every whistle. The final score was 6-1 but the game was played closer than the score. Hopefully the boys settle down before their upcoming tournament in Orillia this coming weekend.
