It was a pretty even game against the Brantford Saints with the Stars getting out to a 2 goal lead to have the Saints come on strong in the last period. Good goaltending helped us hold on for the win. Good job boys. 

Well, look at the time, 3 games have flown by since my last article.

Another weekend has passed and in a friendly exhibition vs the Tyke C team, our boys proved they know how to find the back of the net!  Defensively we were in position most of the time to clear the puck from the front of our net and when we were in their end our defensmen kept pushing the puck back deeper into their zone.  The forwards were flying around the puck all day and never relaxed, playing the full 40 minutes from buzzer to buzzer.  Next up is an away game in Guelph on the 27th.  Anyway, here are the highlights (and there are lots of them):

Another exciting game in the books, and this time we came out with a well deserved win.  All 3 phases of the game showed vast improvement over last week.  Matthew held the Flames to just 2 goals and our defense was much better at getting the puck out of our end and out of harms way.  Our forwards had many great scoring chances, capitalizing on 7 of them.   Most importantly, everyone is starting to know each others habits and we are starting to work as a team, and this will just keep getting better the more games we can play. 

Well, we got our first game in and it was a great game.  The boys had good effort, and the crowd was really encouraging them.  Everyone should be proud.  We are going to try to post articles with links to Mark's Youtube video highlites throughout the year.  Here is a link to this game: Game 1 Highlites
