Where has the time gone
Well, look at the time, 3 games have flown by since my last article.
In the first of the games just after Christmas, our boys traveled to Guelph to play a very disciplined and strong team. The boys played hard all game, keeping it really close until the last couple of minutes when they appeared to run out of gas, giving up a handful of quick goals in the last 3 minutes.
In last weekends match we faced the second Aylmer novice team, we were a bit sluggish and let them get off to a 4-0 head start before getting a couple to close the gap, but we fought the clock and just ran out of time to make a comeback. I did manage to pull together some highlights of that game, which are posted at the end of the article.
In today's game we played another well trained group of boys from Sarnia, and right of the start it was evident that they have played a lot more games as a team than our boys and work really well as a team with crisp passes and fast skating. None the less, our team kept fighting for the puck all game. It was a difficult game for our boys as they were very good at gaining and keeping the puck in our zone, but it was a great game to learn from, and will help us prepare for our upcoming tournaments.
On a side note, it was great to see Caleb back out on defense after getting injured in Aylmer. I hope you are looking forward to the rematch against Aylmer Caleb!
