Midget A ('94-'96), U16-U18 Travel, 2011-2012 (St. Thomas Minor Hockey)

What a season to remember!  The St. Thomas Lions Club Major Midgets started out the season strong and continued to light up the score board all season long! Some of the season’s highlights include being finalists in the Silver Stick Regional ‘AA’ Tournament and Finalists in the Silver Stick International ‘A’ Tournament.  They finished in 2nd place in the Alliance ‘A/AA’ League standings and Semi Finalists in the OMHA Regional Double Knockout Tournament as well as Semi Finalist in the STMHA tournament!  A great season and the entire team should be very proud of all of their accomplishments!

The St. Thomas Major Midget Jr. Stars traveled to Sarnia last weekend to compete in the International Silver Stick tournament.  The Jr Stars got off to a slow start, losing the 1st game of the tournament with a score of 2-1.  The lone St. Thomas goal was scored by Tyler Beauleau, assisted by Cody Taggart.  After losing the first game, St. Thomas knew they had to come out firing on Saturday and pray for a little help to have any chance of playing on Sunday and that is exactly what they did!

The St Thomas Lions Club Major Midget Hockey team continues to have a great season! During the Christmas break they travelled to Stratford to compete in the ‘AA’ Silverstick Regional Qualifying tournament. The Jr Stars opened the tournament with a 2-0 win over the host Stratford Cullitons. It was a close game with no scoring in the first 2 periods until Tyler Beaulieu scored twice in the 3rd with help from Ryan McDonnel, Dan Gordon and Harrison Luce.

Over the weekend the St Thomas Lions Club Major Midgets were 1 and 1 after facing 2 London teams.

On Sunday Dec.4th the St Thomas Lions Club Major Midgets travelled to Sarnia trying to put some distance between themselves and 3rd place Sarnia.  St Thomas's Will Strong opened the scoring at 11:32 in the 1st period assisted by Ryan McDonnell and Taylor Emmerton.  The score remained set at 1-0 until 32 seconds left in the 2nd period with a goal from Harrison Luce assisted by Conner Hodgins-Depont.  Harrison managed to score 1 more at 6:50 in the 3rd period on  a long stretch pass from Tyler Beaulieu putting the Stars up 3-0.
