Busy Weekend for Major Midgets
The St Thomas Lions Club Major Midget Jr Stars played 3 games in 3 days this past weekend.  First they travelled to Amherstburg on Friday night to play the second exhibition game against the Amherstburg Stars.  A week earlier St. Thomas won 6-4.  Game 2 seemed to be going well, with no score in the first period.  Taylor McArthur opened the scoring early in the 2nd assisted by Harrison Luce and Ryan McDonnell.

After that the wheels fell off and St Thomas allowed 3 powerplay goals and ended up losing 3-1.  Saturday it was back to St T to play Brantford in the Alliance AA/A seeded league.  At 11:20 in the 1st period Tyler Beaulieu scored with Tayler Emmerton assisting.  St Thomas poured it on but the Brantford goaltender made 43 saves to keep the score close.  St T didn't score again until 13:23 in the 3rd when Zak Jukna scored, assisted by Tanner Turley and Dan Gordon.  The final score was 2-1.  On Sunday the Jr Stars travelled to Western Fair arena to play the London Jr Knights.  This was a chance to jump into a tie for 1st place with the Jr Knights and also have a game in hand.  But the Jr Stars got into penalty trouble and gave up 3 powerplay goals in the 1st period.  At 9:21 of the second period St T scored a powerplay marker of their own on a shot from the point by Cody Taggart, assisted by Mark Brisson and Tyler Beaulieu.  London answered back scoring a 4 on 4 goal at 3:28 in the second.  There was no scoring in the 3rd until London scored another powerplay goal at 2:15 to make the final score 5-1. St Thomas is now in 2nd place 4 points back of the Knights and 3 points ahead of the Sarnia Jr Sting.  On Sunday December 4th St Thomas will travel to Sarnia to play the Sting at 3:00 at the Clearwater arena.  Go Stars Go!
