PEEWEE AE STARS STAY ON TOP OF THE LEADER BOARD WINNING ALL THREE GAMES ON THE WEEKEND
Not only did the ST THOMAS PEEWEE AE STARS win, but just dominated all of their opponents and came out on top with 37 goals for and 1 against in 3 games.  The STARS TEAM started by pounding the Wallaceburg Lakers 17-0, then decimating the St Marys Rock 11-0 and finishing by controlling the Lambeth Lancers 9-1.  The boys played their game all the way thru the weekend using their strengths of passing, rushing, shooting at the net, controlling the blue line and offensive pressure were the cornerstone for all victories.

Here’s a brief highlight of the games this weekend:

1-Matt Beckwith, one of the STARS brick wall grabbed another shutout in the first game against Wallaceburg and had a hot glove hand with Lambeth.  Becksie came out in a challenge to the shooter, cut off the play and flashed the glove hand for the big save.  Matt could also be considered the LONELY MAYTAG REPAIR MAN just waiting for the phone to ring as he watched the offense dominate the play.

3-David DaCosta had the opponents offense scrambling as he cut off the plays on the blue line and setup passing plays for a couple of assists.  David used the boards and sent pucks out of the danger zone frustrating the opponent’s offense.

6-Noah Allen used his speed and the boards to clear out pucks that came his way in the defensive end.  Noah trapped forwards against the boards and made sure that his man was tied up in front of the net.

7-Jake Gillis was sorely missed with his current injury, but we know he’ll be back in the line up soon.

8-Noah Dos Santos got 4 goals and 6 assists on the weekend.  On a quick passing play Noah got to the net and then they line passed and passed until they found an opening to shoot it in.

10-Ryan Payne grabbed 2 goals and 2 assists.  Ryan was skating in hard to the net, only looking at the goalie for his reactions and not taking his eyes off the goalie with just a quick flick then passed it over to the open side, faking the goalie for another red light.

12-Sam Graham went thru a couple of forwards and defense to walk in and score another goal on the weekend.  In the defensive end Sam made sure all pucks were cleared breaking up any play that may have become a threat.

13-Cameron Douglas is a complete net digger and came away with 5 goals and 5 assists.  Cameron is just a completed go getter, wherever the puck is Cameron is sure to be, whether getting or setting up the goals.

14-Sam Hardy setup so many of the STARS action packed plays in the offensive end.  Sam will challenge anyone, anytime for control of the puck, getting assists on the plays.

15-Zack Banks with a new stick in hand made all the teams goalies pay as his shots found the inside of the red metal.  Zack got 8 goals and 4 assists in the games.  The first game saw Zack get the hat trick and then add 1 more for the night on a split of “D” and walk in to blow the puck past the goalie.

19-Joey Hardy, “SCORING MACHINE” keeps his nickname getting 7 goals and 6 assists.  Joey also, got a hat trick and added the forth on the night as he received the give and go pass and flew to the net, where the puck whistled past and in.

29-Chris Wood had a fantastic game against St Marys.  St Marys had a great first period getting to the STARS net many times, but Woody was able to steer and manipulate all pucks and plays to the side of the net.  Woody’s quick reflexes with his stick made it impossible for their forwards to make any headway on their power plays.

61-Carson Nurse had some great fun on the weekend playing in the winger position.  Carson grabbed a couple off assists and did a great job of back checking turning the play the other way.

66-Josh Hare like a fire bolt raced from end to end netting 3 goals and adding an assist for the weekend.  Josh stayed with the play and forced the play at the net keeping the puck alive and then burying it in.

77-Caden Beshara controlled the penalty play in the STARS end and made sure not one of the other teams had an advantage on the ice.  Caden also deaked around players and headed to the net getting 1 goal and setting up another.

81-Deny Reid made the goalie pay for his mistakes every time he was near the net, getting 4 goals and 4 assists.  Deny has a fantastic game against Wallaceburg getting his first hat trick and then added the forth on the night.  On one play, Deny walked in and just waited with the puck for the goalie to commit and then fired to the top of the net.

88-Ash O’Connor controlled the defensive end, power play mode and crushed all opponents on HIS battlefield.  Ash has a wicked shot from the blue line and using his blistering shot got 2 goals on the weekend.

GREAT JOB BOYS- KEEP IT GOING!!!!

GO STARS!!!!
