Port Stanley wins 5-4
The Maxwell's Cameras/Ansell's Awards midget AE team lost Saturday at the Timken Center to Port Stanley 5-4. Port Stanley scored the lone goal of the first period but goals by Cody Gooding and Travis Verkade for St. Thomas tied the score at 2-2 by the end of the second period. Connor Farrell put St. Thomas ahead early in the third but three straight goals by Port Stanley proved to be too much for the Stars to overcome. Ryan Gilson scored the fourth goal for St. Thomas with 3:40 remaining on the clock. Sunday the Stars travel to Strathroy. Game time is 7:55 p.m.
