Reminder: Annual General Meeting, April 24, 2024

Notice: Annual General Meeting, April 24, 2024  


The STMHA will hold its annual general meeting (AGM) on April 24, 2024 at the Columbus Club of St. Thomas, with registration commending at 6pm and the meeting commencing at 630pm. 

Every year there a 5 3yr board member terms up for nomination.  If you would like your name added to the ballot sheet prior to the AGM, please email Vicki at [email protected]   

In addition to the regular business to be conducted at the AGM, members will vote to ratify the following:  

1.            Articles of Amendment:  In order to comply with the newly enacted Ontario Not For Profit Corporations Act, STMHA must file articles of amendment prior to October, 2024.  With the assistance of legal counsel, the Board of Directors have approved the draft form of articles at the link provided below:  Articles_of_Admendment   The resolution to be voted on will be as follows:  “The articles of STMHA are hereby amended to the form presented to the members at the meeting, and the directors and officers or any one of them are authorized to sign and file such articles with the proper authorities.”  

2.            By-laws:   The Board of Directors have approved updated by-laws to comply with the Ontario Not For Profit Corporations Act. The form of by-laws are available at the link provided below:   ONCA_by-laws   The resolution to be voted on will be as follows:  “The general operating by-law of STMHA is repealed and the new general by-law No. 1 which has been submitted to this meeting is approved.”  

3.            Change of Membership :  The Board of Directors have commenced the process for STMHA to change membership from the Ontario Minor Hockey Association to the Minor Hockey Alliance of Ontario.  This will enable the representative teams to continue to play in the Alliance Seeded AA/A League.   The resolution to be voted on will be as follows:  “The board of directors of STMHA is hereby authorized to make an application and take such actions as may be necessary to change the membership of STMHA from the Ontario Minor Hockey Association to the Minor Hockey Alliance of Ontario.”
