Minor Peewee Stars Take Alliance AA Title
The Boston Pizza Minor Peewee Stars used a
buzzer beater to take the Alliance AA Playoff Championship to end the
season. The Stars went undeafeted on
their way to the title, including preliminary round wins against London
Mustangs White and Brantford. This set
up a final with the Kitchener Rangers who finished first during the regular
season in the Alliance AA division.
However, this did not deter the boys.
They won 3 games late to sweep the series and take home the title,
including the series clinching goal with less than one second left on the
clock.
This is a major accomplishment for this team and a great way to end a very successful season. The team compiled a season record of 45 wins, 15 losses and 4 ties while playing against some of the best competition in the province, winning two tournament championships along the way. Thanks go to Mike Babcock and his staff, our parents and sponsors for making this such a great year.
