Novice "A" Jr. Stars Tryouts
Hello Everyone,
The first tryouts for the Novice 'A' Jr. Stars are approaching fast.

this article for important information regarding the tryouts.
TRYOUT DATES:
Tuesday August 25th
5:00pm - 6:30pm Timken Centre (STMHA Rink)
Tuesday September 1st
5:30pm - 7:00pm Timken Centre (STMHA Rink)
Wednesday September 2nd
5:15pm - 6:45 pm Timken Centre (Presstran Rink)
Please arrive at tryouts at least 40 minutes prior, to sign in and receive a jersey. We would like the opportunity to meet each player prior to them hitting the ice.
PRIOR TO TRYOUTS:
1) All players must be registered with St Thomas Minor Hockey.
2) All players must ensure that at least one parent has completed the Respect in Sports online course. This must be done BEFORE tryouts start as this needs to be completed in order to be eligible to make the team.
3) Players trying out may be released after the 2nd scheduled evaluation skate.
INDIVIDUAL EVALUATIONS Players will be evaluated on the following aspects:
1) Hockey Skills: skating, speed, passing, shooting, stick handling
2) Personal Skills: effort, focus, commitment, listening, behaviour, drive and determination
Evaluations will be completed in part by independent individuals that will be present at each tryout. All players need to provide their own water bottle and mouth guards are mandatory. Players advancing through each phase of the tryouts will be posted on the website.
Note to those players successful in being named to the final roster. The team will be playing in the 38th Annual Essex Ravens Early Bird Tournament Sept 18-20. Hotel Information and itinerary will be posted shortly.
Those players who are released will have the opportunity to tryout for the Novice AE team that will compete in the Shamrock League's Novice AE division.
