Country Charm Cafe Minor Peewee Finalists
Submitted By Todd McIntyre on Monday, September 21, 2015
The Country Charm Café Minor Peewee team traveled down the QEW to compete in the Garden City Early Bird as a season opening tournament.

The first game had the Stars match up against a fast skating team from Hespeler. The Stars scored first and game was see-saw battle with each team trading goals, but in the end it was the Shamrocks who had all the luck as they scored with a few minutes remaining to take the lead and then adding an empty net goal as the clock ticked down to give the Stars a 5-3 loss.
The nightcap saw the Garden City Falcons face a determined Stars Team. The Stars came out fast and furious and had offence coming from all three lines. The  hometown crowd would be sent home early as the Stars skated to a 7-1 win.
The third contest would put the Stars against Woolwich Wildcats. The Stars got off to a very quick start scoring twice in the first shift of game. The Wildcats would not be able to get back into the game. The final 6-3.
An afternoon match was set with the Burlington Eagles. The game was a very fast paced and action packed. The Defence and goaltending turn away the Eagles attack and the Stars posted a 1-0 Victory.
We found ourselves playing the New Hamburg Huskies on Sunday morning. The Huskies scored early into the contest. This would be the only goal they would score as the Stars would go on to score 6 unanswered goals for a 6-1 win.
The final was set, a rematch against the Hespeler Shamrocks. The boys match speed with the Shamrocks until the midway point of the 2nd period, when Hespeler would score 3 quick goals. They would add two late goals and skate off with the win.
The Country Charm Cafe Stars would have to settle as Finalists this time around, but by all accounts, had a very successful weekend and a great start to our Hockey season.
