Major Bantam A ('00) - Nations Cup Champions !!!
The St. Thomas Millcreek Plumbing Junior Stars Major Bantam A ('00) team traveled to Michigan, USA over the past weekend to compete in the Nations Cup Tournament Tier II (Nov. 28-30).

They were excited and eager to represent Canada among with other 8 Canadian teams to play against 9 American teams in their group division. Teams Canada looked great in their Canada logod red and black jerseys with matching socks. Not too often that the guys get to be on the same team with their Canadian fellows.
All teams from Canada played very well in this tournament.

As for the St. Thomas Major Bantam stars, the guys gave it all at each of their five games with great team effort, puck passing, smart play moves that their coaches have taught them. The Stars were focus and never stopped putting pressure on the opponents throughout each period of all the games. The pucks kept flying toward the Nets of the USA teams. The Junior Stars determined to go all the way and win for themselves, their families and their nation. Of course they did just that.

The Stars had a good start after their first game against Chicago Hawks on Friday with a victory of 4-1. The winning momentum kept on going for the Stars in the second game on the same day. Another win of 4-1 against Chicago Bruins. They tied 3-3 with Troy Sting after their third game on Saturday morning. The Stars got back their winning mood in their fourth game vs Traverse City with a final score of 4-1. The Stars wrapped up their journey with another victory of 3-1 against Florida Jr. Everblades on Sunday morning.
The St. Thomas Jr. Stars Major Bantam headed home with 4 wins and 1 tie. Their awesome tournament record has helped all Canada Teams to earn the "Nations Cup Champions" title ! Go Canada Go!
It was way beyond what coaching team & families expected. The #4 seems to be the lucky number for the Stars in this tournament.
As coach Terry has said "What a great start to the 2nd half of the season for the Major Bantam Stars with 2 league wins and 5 games undefeated at the Nations Cup Tournament". He is very proud of team effort that the guys have contributed.
The Stars and their families had an awesome weekend away. They sure made the Surprised Birthday Celebration for coach Terry over the weekend extra special !!!
Keep up your awesome work Stars ! Can't say enough how proud we are of each and everyone of you !!!
The next tournament for the Major Bantam A team will be in Brantford over the Christmas holiday!
Go Stars Go !!!
