ST THOMAS BANTAM AE STARS - 11 Tillsonburg Tornadoes zilch, nodda, nothing – 0
The STARS TEAM just dominated the Tornadoes for all three periods.  Whether they were equal in strength, on a power play or killing a penalty, the STARS were outplaying their opponents.  Both offense and defensive players kept the pressure up in the opponents end.  Passing, hard skating and pure pressure gave the STARS the win.  Tillsonburg came out fighting but the STARS made it known that they were on home ice and they were going to control this game.

The BANTAM AE boys not only have the skill set on the ice but the determination and the will to win and outlast their opponents.  The boys on the TEAM only have one thing to prove and that is they will keep on playing hard, till the end of the game for the win.  No matter whether they are ahead or behind on the scoreboard, they give it their all for their TEAMMATES.

Between the pipes, Matt Beckwith had to make some timely saves and came up with the big blocker save as Tillsonburg rushed the net.   In the third period as the Tornadoes penalty pressuring for a goal, Matt kept his cool and made the casual move of flashing the leather in the air and came up with the puck again for another save.  Matt carved another kill in his stick getting another shut out for his career.

Helping Matt complete the shut out, Sam Graham saved a crucial goal, as the puck was tied up in the crease and Sam spun it to safety.  Noah Allen kept tracking the puck down in the STARS end and then setup the next play down the ice for the next wave of attacks by the STARS forwards.  Carson Nurse outskated a two on one break for the Tornados and won control of the puck, turned it back up the boards and the BANTAM AE TEAM was off again.  Tysen Hunter not only broke to the net for a goal, but also put on a puck handling clinic in the offensive end as the STARS had to kill off a penalty.  Preston Hathaway not only controlled the play at the blue line but also went hard to the net getting a three goals on the night.  Congrats Preston on your first career hat trick.  On the opening goal of the game, Preston rushed from the opposite end to the Tornadoes net.  Preston then blasted the puck right to the back of the net.  Ash O’Connor bagged another two goals on the night by using his great hard shot from the point and directing the puck to the open side of the net.  The defense had a great game with great hard work.

The BANTAM AE STARS offense equally had an impressive outing, outplaying the Tornados on every inch of the ice.  Cameron Douglas, Nick Love and Noah Dos Santos just kept buzzing all over the front and the back of their net and frustrated their goalie.  They just kept up the relentless pace and their line combined for 3 goals and grabbed 9 points on the night.  Denis Hebert rushed down the wing, fought off their defense man along the boards and cut to the net.  He then flipped an awesome back hand shot over the goalie.  Ryan Payne and Lane Westgate made some great cross ice passes down the wing and fed Denis for another goal on the night.  Josh Hare kept the pressure up on the T’burg goalie and when shots came from the point, Josh got his stick on the puck redirecting it, but the goalie just got a piece of it.  Matt Crump was just a force to reckon with in the corners and sent passes out towards the front of the net thru the crease.  Mackenzie Parkin was on the receiving end of one of those passes.  Mackenzie has a great wrist shot and turned the red light on again over the Tillsonburg goalie.

Maybe not the score, but I think this will be a typical ST THOMAS BANTAM AE STARS game; hard skating, hard pressure, tight defense and hard play by the offense towards the opponents net.  Great job tonight boys.  Again you gave the STARS fans a great show and a lot to cheer for.

GO STARS!!!!
