BANTAM AE STARS NOTCH ANOTHER 2 GAME WINS ON REGULAR SEASON PLAY
The Lambeth Lancers and the South Huron Sabres both carry weapons that were ineffective and could not reach the ST THOMAS BANTAM AE STARS.  The Lancers came close but the STARS edged them out for a 5-4 win and the Sabres came for 2 periods, but again the STARS play great thru all 3 periods for the 3-1 win.

On the Friday night win against Lambeth, Matt Beckwith had a more challenging night in net than usual.  Bust as usual for Matt he was stocked up on fuel and made the crucial saves.  The defense got split at centre ice and Becksie was faced with a 2 on none situation.  He came out to cut down the angle and the slid across to stop the pass over and deflected the puck to the side boards.

Lambeth had a one, nothing lead early but could not hold off the pressuring BANTAM AE TEAM.  Nick Love and Denis Hebert both muscled their way to 2 goals each on the night.  On the first goal by Nick, he came in looked one way and then feinted to the other, dekeing the goalie and making him turn around to see he was way out of position and Nick’s puck was in the back of the net.  Denis’ goals both came from just plain old brute force power and he drove the puck right thru the goalie.  He got passes from Matt Crump and Mackenzie Parkin and there was no stopping those shots.  Tysen Hunter tried many times to get goals from his favourite defensive position, but just couldn’t get it in the net.  In this game there was a lot of great D to D passing from Tysen and Noah Allen and then Noah had some great shots at the net.  There was a flurry of activity in front of the Lambeth net by Ryan Payne and Lane Westgate when Tysen did end up getting the game winning goal.  As Lambeth tried to clear the puck and it came right to Tysen’s stick.  He then lifted a wrist shot from just inside the blue line point and beat the goalie to the left side of the net.

In Sundays’ game, Cole Sonier was again in stellar form.  Cole had to look sharp as South Huron kept pressuring and kept sending pucks to the STARS net.  With a great kick and blocker combination he batted the puck clear in a feeding frenzy that was in front of him.  Noah Dos Santos and Josh Hare were just everywhere the puck was and started many of the STARS rushes up the ice creating chance after chance to take control of the game.  The defensive pairing of Sam Graham and Carson Nurse is a great combination to watch.  Both have a hard body check and can really blast the puck off the boards to get it out of their end.  As well on the blue line in the offensive end both players have a wicked shot that just create mayhem in front of the opponents’ net.

The BANTAM AE STARS were again led to victory by the scoring feats of Nick Love and Denis Hebert.  Nick grabbed his own rebound for one and he received a cross ice pass from Cameron Douglas.  Denis goal, well Denis just has that quick shot that rockets past the unsuspecting net minder.

The hard pressure, the fast skating and passing right on the tape of the receiver’s stick, making play after play happen just gives the STARS FANS many great times to cheers for.

WOW – WHAT GREAT EFFORTS ON THE ICE!!!

GO STARS!!!!
