Midget AE, U16-U18 Travel, 2009-2010 (St. Thomas Minor Hockey)

   The Maxwell's Cameras/Ansell's Awards midget AE team travelled to West Lorne Monday for a final and deciding game 8 with both teams having won three and one ending in a tie and it was only fitting that the third period was going to decide the series with both teams finding the mark four times in the first 40 minutes. The lone goal of the period was scored by the home team. Chad Cote, Ryan Gilson, Brad Holder and Braden Hellems scored for the Stars.

   Facing a must-win situation, the Maxwell's Cameras/Ansell's Awards midget AE team responded with 5-1 win at the Timken Center Wednesday night. After falling behind early in the first period, Braden Hellems pulled the Stars even before the end of the first period and Connor Farrell put the home team ahead to end the second period with St. Thomas leading 2-1. Tom Black, Hellems and Jacob Vader added third period goals to round out the scoring. Game 8 has not been scheduled at this time.

   The Maxwell's Cameras/Ansell's Awards midget AE team faces a win-or-season-over situation Wednesday night when they host West Lorne in game seven of their Shamrock B final. The Stars lost a shootout Sunday in West Lorne 7-5. The Stars led 3-1 after the first period on goals by Brad Holder, Travis Verkade and Jon Liebregts and extended the lead to three with Holder's second of the game early in the second period but the home team scored four of their own to take a 5-4 lead into the third period.      The Maxwell's Cameras/Ansell's Awards midget AE team saw their hopes for an OMHA title disappear Saturday with a 6-3 loss in Belle River. Coach Walt Molinaro was happy with everyone's effort in the game. The Stars fell behind 1-0 in the first minute of the game but rebounded with the next three goals scored by Cody Gooding, Adam Kohler and Brad Holder. Belle River pulled within one before the end of the first period and added two more in the second to take a 4-3 lead into the third period. The Stars will now return to Shamrock playoff action. No game is yet scheduled at this time.

   After dropping the first two games of the series by scores of 5-4 and 6-0 to Belle River, the Maxwell's Cameras/Ansell's Awards midget AE team rebounded taking three of four points in games 3 and 4. On Thursday at Belle River each team netted two goals in the opening period with St. Thomas scoring the only goal of both the second and third periods to give St. Thomas the much needed 4-2 victory.
