Kinsmen Minor Atom Stars took the Championship Banner at the 40th Annual Wayne Gretzky Tournament in Brantford over the holidays.  Congratulations to all the boys on a team effort!
The first game of the tournament the Stars played Guelph Storm and tied 3-3.  In the afternoon playing Niagara Falls Canucks they scored two goals in the first period while Niagara scored one in the second and finishing them in the third we won 3-1.

Monday morning the Stars took on the Whitby Wilcats and play was back and forth, but in the third period the Stars scored twice while Whibty was left scoreless.
This earned the Stars a bye to the Semi Finals. Playing really early Tuesday morning and down four players with a bug they took on Brantford 99 ers and won 3-1 in the semi final action. In the other semi finals Whitby Wildcats played London Bandits and Whitby won 2-1. Down time between games rested our boys up for the Finals. The bench was almost back to normal. In the Final Championship game the stars played Whitby Wildcats. Stars were leading 2-0 in the second period and Whitby managed to tip in a goal. The play was back and forth with two well matched teams. St.Thomas scored again in the third winning the Championship game 3-1. The boys showed that hard work pays off. Good job boys!!!
