Stars facing must-win situation
The Maxwell's Cameras/Ansell's Awards midget AE team faces a win-or-season-over situation Wednesday night when they host West Lorne in game seven of their Shamrock B final. The Stars lost a shootout Sunday in West Lorne 7-5. The Stars led 3-1 after the first period on goals by Brad Holder, Travis Verkade and Jon Liebregts and extended the lead to three with Holder's second of the game early in the second period but the home team scored four of their own to take a 5-4 lead into the third period. Travis Verkade pulled St. Thomas even early in the third with his second of the game but a short handed goal and an empty netter put the Stars into a 7-5 deficit in points in the eight point series. Game time Wednesday night is 8:15 at the Timken Center.
