Congratulations to the U11A Stars who were finalists in the Welland Little NHL Tournament this weekend.
The Stars had a strong start, with a 4-1 win over the Clarington Toros, followed by a hard fought 4-3 loss to the Windsor Jr. Spitfires.
The Stars beat TNT Tornados in round robin play, a 7-0 win and also defeated the Tornados in the semifinal 5-0.
Game MVPs for the Stars were Spencer Giza (C), Tommy Hitch (RW), Blake Zylstra (LW), Quillan Rogers (D) and Liam Brown (D), respectively.
The Stars met the Spitfires again in the final but fell 6-2 in the championship game.
Tournament MVP for the Stars was centreman, Bradley Willaert, who displayed exceptional playmaking abilities and was a threat up front with a handful of goals throughout the tournament.
Special recognition to Stars goaltenders Lachlan MacArthur and Renan DaPonte who both recorded shutouts.
