Bantam (03) 2017-18 Roster.
Congratulations to the following players on making the roster for the 2017-18 season.
Tyson Benwell, Hunter Gilchrist, Steven Hartle, Keaton Kelsey, Brady Kokko, Kolton Levesque, Jordan Medeiros, Jordan Moore, Theo Morrison, Aiden Nugent, Hunter Reichstein, Bryce Serratore, Wyatt Sloetjes, Jaden Vansevenant, Joe Verhaeghe, Ben White
Compared to last year, this year saw a higher number of players trying out, including twice as many NRP's, and more talent to choose from. Every player, throughout the tryouts, pushed the other to be better.
These factors made selecting a final roster much more difficult this time around. Unfortunately there are only so many positions available and only 3 NRP spots open.
I will personally vouch that today was not a fun day for the coach having to inform some players that they didn't make the final cut. Anyone thinking otherwise, please think again. I know that he agonized over some decisions that unfortunately he had to make.
Players and parents alike are disappointed, it's only natural, some are angry and bitter. Feelings like this aren't exclusive to any one team. It's the nature of competition.
I said this is in a previous post and will say it again. On behalf of the coaches and myself, we thank each of you for your interest in trying out for the team and appreciate the effort you put forth in doing so. We wish you good luck and success with your team in the upcoming season, wherever you should end up, and invite you to keep us in mind for next year's try out.
