Novice Select, 2010-2011 (St. Thomas Minor Hockey)

It was a friendly game between the Junior Stars Novice Select and the Elgin Mall Novice House League team at the John Labatt Centre. Everybody had a lot of fun during our game with very good plays back and forth from both teams.  

It was a successful run by the Novice Select Stars in the St. Thomas Select Tournament. In spite of the 5-3 loss in the first game against the Niagara Falls Canucks, the Stars were able to rescue 1 point mainly due to the natural hat trick by #2 Kyle Wiebe, who scored a goal in each period. Niagara won the first period 3-1 but the second and third periods were tied 1 goal a piece to earn the Stars half a point from each. After a couple of difficult games against good teams from Chatham and London, the St. Thomas Junior Stars Novice Select team started to show signs of good things to come.

It was a difficult weekend for the St. Thomas Novice Select. Our team played a 2-game series against the West London Hawks. The London team proved to be a very good team that has played already over 20 games this season. In spite of a great effort by the Jr. Stars, especially during the second game, they could not stop the aggressive offensive of the Londoners that ended up winning both games.   Now it is back to the drawing board.   Keep it up team!!
