Minor Atom A Stars Win OMHA Championship!
The St. Thomas Minor Atom A Junior Stars came away with a convincing 7-1 victory over Uxbridge in the deciding game before a large hometown crowd to win an OMHA championship and the right to wear the red hat symbolic of minor hockey supremacy.

This team never quit and found a way to win when it counted most on their way to the title.  The Stars knocked off Amherstburg and rival Essex in the first two rounds, handing Essex their only home loss all year in the process.  This set up a thrilling five-game series against Grimsby.  The Stars were down two games but came back to win three in a row, including game five in OT.  They then swept Centre Wellington in the semis to match up against Uxbridge in the final.  The series saw each team win once in regulation and once in OT to set up the deciding game where the Stars left no doubt they deserved to be champions.    All players contributed to this outcome.  Coach Andrew Power and his staff are to be congratulated for keeping the team focused while having lots of fun along their playoff journey.  Assistant Coach Cam Douglas went above and beyond for these boys.  This team had great fan support all year which was evident when the boys came out of the Jr. B Stars dressing room after the final game as champions!
