2009-10 Travel Team Banquet
The 2009-10 St. Thomas Minor Hockey Association Travel Team Banquet was held April 11th at the St. Anne's Centre. Travel Players, Parents and Coaches gathered to enjoy a delicious pasta dinner prepared by WOP and WONG.

The first banquet included teams from Tyke Select to Major Atom, and featured guest speaker Mike Stubbs, voice of the London Knights. Mike provided the players and parents will some classic hockey stories and great lessons to be learned. Thanks to Mike for taking the time to talk with our young players.

The second banquet featured teams from Minor Pee wee to Midget. Midget Coach John Corkum took a few moments to say good bye to the following players who have finished their Minor Hockey Careers:

Randy Belanger, Scott Holder, Tyson Corkum, Brian Yurek, Jeff Laidlaw, Tyler Coursolle & Adam Galloway.

We wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

Special congratulations to Jacob Vader who has been selected to the Canadian National Amputee Hockey Team. Two special donations were made to Jacob, one from Coach Walt Molinero and the rest of the Midget AE team and one from President Chris Smith on behalf of the St. Thomas Minor Hockey Association. These donations will help Jacob and his family off set the cost of attending the tournament.

A great time was had by all in attendance. A special thank-you to: Gerry the Memorabilia Guy, St. Thomas Glass, the St. Thomas Stars, Tommy Whites Source for Sports and Sani Sports for their prize donations.

True Sport
The True Sport Principles are a rallying point for True Sport members — they are universal. The principles can be brought to life in any sport at any level, from playground to podium. An Olympic rowing squad can embrace these principles with the same sense of pride and purpose as an elementary school, an old-timers' league, or a community hockey arena. For sport to be truly good and have the opportunity to make the greatest difference, all seven of these principles need to be in play at all times, working in perfect balance with one another.
