Early Bird Tournament
In order to bring the team together early in the season we have booked into the Garden City Early Bird Tournament in the Niagara Falls area on Sept. 20, 21, 22. Unfortunately in order to book a hotel as a team the hotels require that we book one month in advance to be able to book our rooms together.
The point of the early tournament is to bring the players and parents together as a group to start the season on a team building positive note. Recognizing that the team has not been selected yet it is difficult to have rooms booked by the time the hotel is requesting which is by this Friday, August 23rd. In order to guarantee your room with the team block I recommend parents who feel their child will be selected for the team to call 1-800-771-1123 (Courtyard by Marriott Niagara Falls) and book your room under the "St. Thomas Stars Major Peewee" booking. You will need a major credit card to confirm the room. If something changes before the tournament you can cancel the booking as long as it is 7 days or more before September 20th. The rates for the rooms are about $150 for the Friday night and $200 for the Saturday night. I recognize this is not cheap, but the location of the hotel is very close to the top of Clifton Hill which will be a popular spot for the team to get together. While I encourage all families to book into the Marriott it is not manditory. We will try to set up team gathering times for events so all families can be included even if you decide to stay at another location.
