Both goalies, Matt Beckwith and Chris Wood grabbed themselves each another shutout in this last past week, bring their total combined shutouts for the entire season to 13. For the entire season this dynamic duo has only 48 goals against in 35 games and in regular season only 15 goals against in 18 games.
Along with great goal-tending is a strong core of defense that controls the blue line play, creating open ice for the wingers and also they rush to the net keeping the pressure in the offensive end. This particular group of defensemen also has no problem taking the puck o the net to score or shooting from the blue line to light up the rink. The STARS also have a great physical presence on the ice and use their checking game very effectively.
