Jr. Knights too strong for Jr. Stars
Submitted By Derek MacMillan on Monday, November 01, 2010
Game 7 pitted the Minor Atom Jr. Stars on the road in London vs. the Jr. Knights-Green.  Our guys put up a courageous fight against a very skilled opponent until running out of gas the 3rd allowing London to register 5 unanswered goals to secure an 8-3 victory.

London tallied first less then 3:00 into the first however, St. Thomas stood up to the challenge.  Throughout the period, our Jr. Stars worked hard to limit London's chances and escaped only down a goal.

St.Thomas drew even less then 2:00 into the second.  Drake H. found the back of the net with his shot from the slot after receiving a perfect tape to tape pass from Harrison B.  The extra assist went to Manson N. playing the point.  London, still pressing, scored twice, 0:40 apart to finish the period with a 2 goal lead.

Having surprised London with our determination in the first 2 periods, they came out strong in the 3rd.  The Jr. Knights managed 3 goals in the first 5:00 to increase their lead to 6-1.  However, St.Thomas still had some left in the tank and managed 2 more goal from Harrison B. and Russell O. at 8:16 and 5:10 of the period respectively.  Feeling the pressure, London stepped up their assault and tallied twice more to extinguish ours hopes of an upset with an 8 - 3 victory.

Well done against a very strong team from London.  I beleive we gave them more challenge then they expected.  Continue to play like you did against the Jr. Knights and we will find success.
