MAJOR PEEWEE PHARMASAVE JR STARS BECOME CHAMPIONS OF THE NIAGARA SPORT– FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS TOURNAMENT
The MAJOR PEEWEE STARS TEAM went south of the border to Niagara Falls, NY for the great American Thanksgiving Tournament and came out with a great Black Friday deal going undefeated thru the tournament and wearing GOLD thru security at the border back to Canada.

Both goalies; Maclane and Rhett had to make some pretty awesome saves to keep them on the winning path.
KOODOOS guys - great games.

The boys started off playing the Caledon Hawks on the Friday afternoon game and edged their way to a 5-4 victory.  Later that evening they came up with a big 4-1 win over the Halton Ravens.  This gave the STARS TEAM 8.5 points with one round robin game to play against the Humber Valley Sharks who also massed 8.5 points.  So we knew we were in for a close game with them and on Saturday, that was the case and both team played to a 1-1 draw and split all the points for the game.  This set up the Championship game with the PHARMASAVE ST THOMAS JR STARS playing a rematch against the new tournament rivals the Humber Valley Sharks.

The MAJOR PEEWEE STARS TEAM came to play and opened the scoring early getting a quick early goal.  But, Humber Valley came right back and tied it up.  The STARS TEAM came back again making it 2-1, but again Humber Valley wouldn’t stay down and tied it up at 2-2 once again.  After that it was all STARS that the Humber Valley goalie was seeing as the boys kept pressuring the offensive end, killed off penalties and came out on top 5-2 with a gold medal performance.

This weekend was a great turning point for the STARS TEAM, coming together as a TEAM and working hard on the ice, but as well having a fun weekend in the pool and I don’t think anyone will forget the great mini stick tournament of 2014 in the huge Fountain Room.

Congrats STARS TEAM – KEEP UP THE GREAT TEAM SPIRIT - GO STARS
