The St Thomas Jr Stars Major Atom’s come home from Niagara with Silver!
It was a monumental weekend marked by success in Niagara for the Country Charm Atom Major St Thomas Jr Stars!  They battled hard, played like a team and came home winners in their own right!

They kicked off the tournament with a bang; beating the Niagara Flyers 8-0.  Dowson got a hat trick; Rickwood and Gocan each put two into the back of the net, Kidder scored on a breakaway and Walker got the shut out.  Coach Rick won player of the game because they couldn’t decide who deserved it most!   Next game they fought hard to beat the Leeside Flames 3-2.  Rickwood, Kidder and Dowson each put one in the back of the net.   Rickwood won a lot of battles and took home player of the game. That afternoon they faced off against the Cambridge Hawks.  Again, they battled hard.  Dowson and Rickwood got on the scoreboard, but the Hawks took it 3-2.  Morgan fought hard to keep them out of the defensive end and earned player of the game.  Despite that loss, the Atom Majors made it to the finals!  They came in focused and prepared to put up a good fight. The Hawks got the lead early in the game and Gocan scored to tie it up.  The Hawks scored again early in the second and Kidder tied it up late in the second.  In the third, Matt Carr scored to make it a 3-2 lead.  Late in the third, the Hawks tied it up and it went into sudden death overtime.  No one scored and it went to a shootout.  After six rounds of the shootout, the Hawks put one in the net.   Kidder earned player of the game for his valiant effort to push the puck to the offensive end.  Devine had an outstanding game in the crease.  The game was a nail biter! It was exhilarating; the boys fought hard to win and they came so close to taking the win!   Every member of the team contributed and every member of the team should be proud of the effort they gave this weekend; way to go Stars!  Thanks to the Coaches for encouraging the boys to bring their best to every shift.  Let’s keep up the good work Country Charm Major Atom Jr Stars!
