Team earns all 4 points on weekend
Minor Atom A Jr.Stars squared off at home Saturday against the Burlington Bulldogs.
With a solid team effort from the Stars Saturday afternoon in front of their cheering home town crowd and there was lots to celebrate as the boys skated to a 3-1 victory over the dogs and put 2 points in the "W" column. Sunday afternoon had the boys travel west along the 402 to do battle against the Sarnia Sting. The game had everything a Stars spectator could ask for with energy and grit, fore checking/back checking, 3-15min periods of "All In" skating, hitting, penalties, scoring, goaltending, confident defence and player position in team mate support. The boys found ways to win battles all over the ice, Anderson Walker stood tall between the pipes facing a lot of rubber while the defence stepped up and worked like horses against the speed of the Sting. With all that awesome happening on the back end of the team the offence did it at the other end. Both Trent Rickwood and Aiden Holder found the back of the net and then Josh Vigars found the twine for the Stars 3rd goal and game winner in a 3-2 victory. This game was an excellent team performance by all doing what they do which earned them 2 wins this weekend and all 4 points that were up for grabs. Great weekend kids, time for a 5 day little break and have a Merry Christmas.
