Major Peewee Stars Shock Fans!
Essex Ravens fans stood in shock after the STMHA Major Peewee Stars defeated their #1 seeded team 4-1 in the OMHA playdown tournament final.
It was just a day earlier that the Ravens pounded the Stars 7-0 sending the Stars down to the lower bracket of the tournament.
" I am really pround of how the boys played this past weekend. We came into the playdown tournament with a 6-25-5 record, not stellar, to say the least. We were seeded 5th out of 6th teams. The boys were at the top of their game this weekend though as we knocked out the 3rd, 4th, 6th and ultimately 1st place seeded teams to win us a spot in the second round. We took the long road to win us a birth in the second round, but we will take it." stated coach Carlson.
The Stars will face Erie North Shore in a second round series of the OMHA playdown.
