PEEWEE AE PLAY HARD BUT CAN’T COME OUT WITH THE WIN
This weekend the ST THOMAS PEEWEE AE STARS took on the East Lambton Eagles and played a hard team effort but couldn’t keep the attack of the Eagles off, losing 3 –6.

With quick hands and a great stick, Chris Wood battled back in net, to have a 2-3 lead for the STARS part way thru the third period.  But with tremendous pressure by East Lambton and constant wave of attacks at the end of the third period the Eagles won 3 – 6.

Ryan Payne and Colin Wright checked and battled their way down the ice, but the Eagles goalie wasn’t letting anything by.  Josh Allen and Tyler Cleary tried to get some plays started to get down to the other end but were sandwiched into the boards where the puck was trapped.  Noah Allen grabbed the puck on a couple of shifts, getting it down the ice to an open Matt McBurney, but Matt was able to capitalize as their defense tracked him down.

Tysen Hunter got the STARS on the board with a cross ice pass from David Gauthier and Tysen sent one flying over the goalie shoulder.  The STARS were back in the game down 1 – 2 after the second period.

At the start of the third, David Gauthier scored unassisted by coming off the bench heading straight for the net; put a move on the goalie in which he bought it.  Then with a quick deaking motion, David switched side and tucked the puck into the net.   Great back checking plays by Sam Graham and Ash O’Connor kept the forwards from getting the puck anywhere near Woody.  Corey Fox and Carson Nurse also played tight shifts to the net keeping the puck and players tied up in front of our net.  Josh Levesque gave the STARS a go ahead goal as Cameron Watson passed from the side as Josh buried the puck past as the Eagles goalie could not pick up the puck.  East Lambton battled back and took control of the game half way thru the third and continued to pound the STARS team until the end.

Remember boys you can’t give up skating.

Let’s try to regroup and play harder next game.

GO STARS!!!
